My wonderful friend

In 05/02 I walked into the Bernalillo PD as the new dispatcher and I found one of the best friends I have ever had. Everyone there was pretty amazing, it was an incredible group of people, we were a family. Phil and I became friends immediately- he had this rough exterior but I could see the teddy bear underneath-don't tell him I said that :). He was smart, handsome, kind and I just always felt secure and taken care of when he was around. We spent hours talking about politics, religion, music and life. He had a tremendous sense of honor and this beautiful kindness that ran deep. Phil had a wonderful smile that was contagious, his whole face lit up when he smiled. I loved him so very much. We went from being co-workers to being such close friends that we became family. I will miss him forever. He loved his family and friends with a fierce passion and he loved Nicholas even more. I pray that he at peace now and I pray that those of us who loved him will keep him in our hearts daily. May God bless his family.
