Edith Jean was born June 18, 1941 in Adams County, Iowa; the daughter of Kenneth and Lorena (Fry) Kirkpatrick. She was a graduate of Winterset High School. She worked with Innovative Industries and enjoyed the work she did at the various jobs. Jean attended Discovery and Camp Wesley Woods for a number of years.
She enjoyed playing dominoes, swimming, reading books, and listening to audio books. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, especially scrapbooking, and listening to her country music. Jean had an infectious personality and could light up the room with her great sense of humor. The only thing she loved more than her Rudy’s chicken and pie was her family and friends. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her brother ‘Billy Boy’, sister, Sharon and her many nieces and nephews.
Jean is survived by her brother, Bill (Dee) Kirkpatrick of Winterset and their children Robert (Connie) Kirkpatrick, and Sheryl (David) Siepker; sister, Sharon Sample of Des Moines and her son, Aaron Smith; one great-nephew; 3 great-nieces; 2 great-great-nephews; caregiver, Kim (Ken) Johnson of Winterset and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Harold Sample.
