What A Giving Heart She Had

Although Velma was married to my ex-father-in-law, Wences Abeyta, I did not really know her very well during the time they were married. I got to know Velma when I began attending New Hope Family Worship Center. Velma was always such a friendly person with a beautiful smile for everyone. Velma also had a great sense of humor and a giving heart. When my mother became very ill two years ago, Velma visited her at her home. After visiting my mom, not a Sunday went by that she did not hug me and ask how she was doing. Although she lost her own mother during that time, she still had a heart and concern for my mom. We were so lucky and blessed to have Velma at New Hope Family Worship Center, and we will miss her lovely presence there. May God Bless her family and help them cope with their great loss. Velma is with our Lord now and we will see her again.

Awsome Person

Sister Velma always greeted you with a warm smile and a hug even when she wasn't feeling so good. You could always count on her servants heart to help where ever she was needed. She always gave of her time to the children at New Hope. She always helped out with VBS, Harvest Festivals, and any where else she was needed. I've known SIs. Velma since I was a little girl at El Buen, and I got to know her even better now as an adult. My children are close in age to her grand children so we had that in common. I will miss her greatly, however I look forward to the day when I will see here again when It is time for me to go home. I Love you Sis. Velma and I know you are having an awsome time rejoicing with your loved ones and walking those streets of Gold.

The meaning of the name Velma

The meaning of the name Velma is Strong-willed Warrior The origin of the name Velma is Greek I got to know sister Velma years ago when she was married to Mr. Abeyta at her sister-in-law's home (Sadie DeAguero). I immediately thought Velma (my sister in Christ) was so beautiful and classy. I lost track of her until I started attending New Hope and we became really good friends. She truly loved the Lord with all her heart. Velma was my favorite aunt's name and that brought us even closer. Now there are two Velma's that I know, in heaven. I new that being a grand "mother" was difficult for her so I was able to be part of her worries for the children. We shared some good stories and how life for some individuals is similar. But the most important one, was how much the Lord, Jesus Christ loved us so much to be our partner, provider, healer, and soon coming King. In every way, the Lord has always provided. I already miss you, my sweet friend, but I know you are touching the Master's hand. Thank you Lord for letting me be a little part of her life. Con todo carino, Cora E. Montoya
