Biography


Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, with family present to receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., May 10, 2010 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare, Winterset, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at The Winterset Community Church, 113 S. 2nd Street, Winterset, Iowa.
Interment: Union Chapel Cemetery, Madison County.

Tim was born in Des Moines, Iowa on August 19, 1957 the son of Robert and Mary (Simpson) Camp. He grew up in Madison County and graduated from Winterset High School in 1976. His marriage to Glenna Kay Speer took place on July 14, 1984 at the First United Methodist Church of Winterset and to this union four children were born. For the past twenty years, Tim worked as a Rural Mail Carrier and he also farmed. Tim loved farming, especially working with animals. He was a member of the Madison County Pork Producers, Farm Bureau and the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset.

Tim was an avid sports fan and especially loved following the Yankees. He loved food, which really means he loved to eat and he also enjoyed cooking, preparing many meals on the grill. He was a loyal friend and neighbor but most of all he was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He cherished his family and any time he could spend with them.

Tim died unexpectedly at his home, Friday, May 7, 2010. He was 52

Tim is survived by his wife, Glenna Camp of Winterset; his children Logan, Landon, Lucas and Lauren Camp all of Winterset; his father, Bob Camp of Winterset; his siblings, Bill (Margo) Camp of Stover, MO; Rick (Judy) Camp of Broken Arrow, OK; Jayne (Tony) Maxwell of Winterset; Kimberly (Martin) Steenhoek of West Des Moines; Karin (Ed) Masterson of Runnells; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Camp and an infant brother, Michael Camp.
