Sixto Martinez

Sixto G. Martinez, 87, of Santa Fe, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his son Ernest and grandson Mario Martinez, parents Luis and Angelita Martinez, brothers Eduardo, Miguel, Emilio, Marcelino, Urbano, and Paul Martinez, and sisters Alicia Martinez, Juanita Dean, and Guadalupita Valencia.

He is survived by his wife Catalina, daughters Rosemary and Joe Griego, MaryAnn and Jennie Martienz, Dorothy and Joe Fresquez, Veronica and Mark Clayton, Carol and Paul Butcher, Ruth Romero, Zelda and Simon Jiron, sons, Benny and Louise, David and Patsy, Danny and Liz, George Martinez, Albert and Maria, Victor and Helen Martinez. Sixto is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great- grandchildren. He was blessed with 5 generations.

Sixto was a fun-loving generous, humorous, and sweet man. Sixto was a father-figure to many and will be sorely missed by all.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Santa Fe Church of Christ (on the corner of Galisteo and Cordova rd) where a funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am. Cremation will follow. Friends are invited to join the family at a reception at the Eagles, 833 Early St, following the services.
