What a GREAT man, Salomon was to all. I was honored to have met him last April in NM; and could easily see how he was so well respected, enjoyed and known as "your friend" from the first handshake. Wonderful Rosary service last night and you could tell that Salomon was a special person as the amount people that were there. A special prayer goes out to his family and friends for recovery and as the priest stated last night, to Rosalie of accepting and moving forward. My Visit to the Ranch with Salomon
A few years ago when Salomon was Assistant to the Deputy Administrator for Farm Programs, FSA, he was deeply involved in a program designed to compensate New Mexico farmers who had suffered losses. Some of the cases became contentious and I accompanied Salomon to New Mexico to assist in resolving the matters. Before setting to task, we both traveled up to the family ranch where I had the pleasure of meeting his father and mother and was given a brief tour of the family ranch. In typical Ramirez family hospitality, I was made to feel like family during my brief visit with my dear friend Salomon.|

2008 Farm Bill
In 2008, Salomon Ramirez was Director, Production, Emergencies, and Compliance Division for FSA in Washington, D.C. He was responsible for a great deal of the program policy that hurriedly needed to be implemented following what was a late enactment (mid 2008). I had the distinct pleasure of assisting him along with a task force of his closest FSA friends and collegues such as myself, Sean O'Neill (Arizona and Washington, D.C.), Joe Lyde (Oklahoma), Dan Steinkruger (Nebraska), Dale Ihry (North Dakota), Brent Orr (Mississippi & Washington, D.C.), Stan Wilson (Illinois), and Chris Morris (Texas), in working both in Washington, D.C. and out in the field to quickly come up with policy and regulations to carry out FSA programs. It was an honor to work with him. Salomon was a great manager and friend and had an absolutely astounding command of all the issues and problems. I will miss him dearly both professionally and personally.|

I saw Solomon just a few weeks ago when he came to DC for a meeting. His smile and warmth always brought joy and lots of smiles to our office. He is truly an angel. I will always remember and treasure the times he and Rosalie worked in DC and a for a brief moment I was able to share a little part of their life.

I recall the trip Sherri & I took with him driving from Colorado Springs to meet Scotty and his wiliness to accommodate us during the trip.
