Ric Johnston

RIC JOHNSTON, 46, of Santa Fe, passed away Monday September 22, 2008 following a lengthy illness. Ric was born in Santa Fe on August 25, 1962. He played in the marching bands both in Mid-School and High School, graduating from Santa Fe High School in 1980 and attended New Mexico State University.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sena, grandparents Adrienne Sanchez and Ernest Sanchez, his aunt Sally Sanchez and uncle Joseph Sanchez.

Ric is survived by his Mother, M. Esther Romero and husband Daniel of Santa Fe; his sister, Barbara Velarde and husband Mike of Santa Fe, and his nephews Michael and Marshal Velarde; step brothers and sisters, Bonnie Ciparro of Aurora, CO, Cheri Weipking of Denver, Scott Romero of Littleton, and Dean Romero of Denver., He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Mary Ann Sanchez of Santa Fe, Barbara Veer of Santa Fe, Ernest Sanchez and wife Eugenia of Long Beach, CA, John Sanchez and wife Maurine of Henderson, NV, Patricia Sanchez of Reno, NV, Theresa Velarde and husband Lawrence of Penasco, NM, Claire Sanchez of Reno, NV, Mary Frances Sanchez of Albuquerque, Jerome Sanchez of Long Beach, CA, Cathey Bottoms and husband Don of Littleton, CO, Frank (Lalo) Sena and wife Inez, Michael Sena, Thomas Sena amd wife Socorro, and Mary Ann Vigil and husband Edward, all of Santa Fe, along with numerous cousins. Ric has been loved and well cared for by his special friends Rob Roy, Pam Roy, Dan Borton, Chip Borton, David Borton, and their parents Bob & I.J. Borton, Jeff Parker, Marta Bowen, Dan Smith, Matt and Elaine Damon, Ellen Yeager, and Steve Catanach.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm today, Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church.. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, Sept. 26 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery.
