We met the first week of college. She was always classy and generous with her time and knowledge. She was so good at so many things and so much fun to hang out with. As time went on, we had children, were godparents for each other's kids and even if we didn't talk all the time, we could catch up in a few minutes. Regina was always beautiful, even to the end. I miss her and think of her every day.

I remember wonderful conversations with Regina sitting on the beach at the Larchmont Yacht Club as we waited for our children who were involved in their various activities at the club.......we talked about our pasts, books, current events, our children.....everything. Regina was passionate about, and knowledgeable about so many different things. She was a courageous and giving woman........and she was beautiful!

As a member of the Mamaroneck High School math department for over 20 years, Regina brought a spirited energy to her classroom, the hallways at MHS, and each and every one of our department gatherings. Regina was very much the heart of our department, and we will always remember her with love for her quick wit, warmth, intellect, thoughtfulness, and caring ways. We remember having an elf who would leave small gifts in our mailboxes each day around Christmastime. She would always deny being the elf, but no one ever really doubted who amongst us had the true holiday spirit. For each and every one of our birthdays, Regina would bring us all together with her spectacular baking, always tailoring each amazing treat and celebration to the individual. She inspired us with her passion for teaching and multitude of creative projects in the classroom, and was always there to lend support and guidance to anyone who sought it. We will remember her always and think of her fondly as the incredible woman she was, with love and gratitude for the ways in which she touched our lives.
With deepest sympathy,
Members of the MHS Math Department

We are so sorry to hear about Regina's passing. Seeing the pictures that were displayed here brought back fond memories of my growing up with the Cain Family.

I can’t imagine how you all must be feeling. I am truly sorry for your loss. Losing a love one in death is one of the hardest trials that can ever be experienced but there is hope. Jesus said in John 5:25, “Most truly I say to you, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who have paid attention will live.”
Jesus, while on earth, used his God given power to resurrect many people from the dead. He did this to show that the hope of a future global resurrection is more than just wishful thinking but a guaranteed reality from our heavenly Father. May this hope for our dead love ones bring you comfort.

Just before New Year's Eve in 2000, my flight from New York to Tokyo was delayed due to a blizzard. Vanessa, who knew about both my trip and the blizzard, had given me her family's phone number in case anything went wrong. I ended up spending the night at the Marrero house in North White Plains, and I've never forgotten the dinner that night. It was so strange to me that the family treated the meal as a normal event--yet to me, Regina's cooking bordered on gourmet. I remember some kind of beef-and-vegetable dish inside a homemade pastry crust. For an ordinary weeknight family dinner, prepared without fanfare. But the moment I'll remember best came when someone remarked that there was no dessert. Regina disappeared into the kitchen and emerged a mere fifteen minutes later, carrying a homemade flan. How does one even produce a flan in fifteen minutes? I didn't know Regina well, but from what Vanessa has told me, that meal is symbolic of the way she cared for her family: quietly, thoroughly, and with grace.
