Biography

Martin, Ray

Age 73 of Omaha

A Celebration of "Homegoing" will be held on Friday Dec 16 at 2:30 - Broadway United Methodist Church in Council Bluffs Iowa, and is open to all. Family will receive friends and family at the church starting at 1:00. Born in North Dakota, he earned an undergraduate degree from Warner Pacific, and a Master's degree from Anderson University. Ray served as a Pastor across Colorado, Nebraska, and North Dakota and with wife, Nina, also served in Global Ministry in Tanzania and Kenya. For the final 10 years of Pastor Ray's ministry, he served as a Hospice chaplain. Ray lived a life of trust, faith and compassion, adoring his wife of 49 years, empowering his children Scott Martin (Anjie) and Julie Stoll (Shawn) and doting on his grandkids Dominic, Josiah, Nate, Dan and Anya. He was well loved by his little brother Warren Martin (Jan) and his baby sister Betty Jo Shrout (Terry) and scores of friends and colleagues around the globe.

Rather than sending flowers Ray would love if you would plant some. If you would like to honor him with a gift in his name, the family would prefer you contribute to one of his passions, like Hospice House https://www.donationpay.org/hospicehouseomaha/ , Anderson University http://www.anderson.edu/support/gift or plant a tree with one of several wonderful organizations.
