Ramon Garcia

Raymond (Ramon) Garcia of Santa Cruz originally from Velarde went to be with our Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2013. He was surrounded by his family and friends. Raymond is preceded in death by his daughter, Josephine, his father and mother, Salvador and Celina Garcia of Velarde, three sisters and five brothers, father and mother in law, Ramon and Lisaida Lucero of Santa Cruz, Vera and Eliseo Vigil of Espanola, and sister in law Connie Garcia of Velarde. Raymond is survived by his wife of 50 years Helen of Santa Cruz, son and daughter in law, Raymond and Juanita Lucero of Santa Cruz, daughter and son in law, Lisaida and David Archuleta of Alcalde, daughter Vera Bustos and companion Bobby of Santa Cruz, Son in law Senovio Martinez of Santa Cruz, Brother Richard Garcia of Velarde, sister in law Diana and Alan Vigil Gitterman of California and brother in law Toby Vigil of Espanola. He loved spending time with grandchildren as well as his 14 great grandchildren. His beloved grandchildren, Davy (Solisa), Ashley (James), Alicia, Anthony (Andrea), Elizabeth (Michael), Andrew (Andrea), Desiray (Pete), and Victoria (Allen). Raymond was born in Velarde on August 8, 1945. He was the owner of Ramon's Lounge in Velarde. As a heavy equipment operator for several companies his last place of employment was with Cooks Transit Mix. Ramon was loved by his many nieces, nephews and friends. With his sense of humor he made an impact on everyone he met. The family wishes to thank his nieces and nephews who helped and surrounded him with love and support as well as the staff and doctors at Espanola Hospital.

A rosary was recited on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Rivera Funeral Home. Funeral mass took place on Monday, November 25, 2013 at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada Catholic Church. Interment followed at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Velarde.
