Marjorie Kantor

Biography


Marjorie Crook Kantor, 93, passed away on June 25, 2011, at Taos Retirement Village in New Mexico. She was born and raised in Minnesota. Both her parents immigrated from Sweden. Marge served as a librarian in the WACS in Egypt during WWII. Later working in Japan, she met her beloved husband Ken, a war correspondent, while climbing Mount Fuji. After marrying and living in Tokyo, they settled in California for 50 years. She was a librarian for LA County. Marge and Ken shared a love of travel, a commitment to community service, and a devotion to friends and family. They touched hundreds of lives with their generosity, global viewpoint, and caring spirits. Marge valued family above all else. She and Ken leave behind daughter Kristin (Ross) Ulibarri, granddaughter Nicola, son Santiago (Tammy) Mejia, granddaughter Ashley, plus many dear nieces and nephews and their families. Son, Stephen, died in 1974.Please send no flowers.
