All roads lead to the ancient city of Kabba for the funeral of Madam Agnes Ikubolaje, Friday, November 10, 2017. As hundreds of mourners will gathered to pay their last respects to this woman who gave her only son to serve the Holy Mother Church: Our Venerable Brother: Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ikubolaje, Cssp. (RIP)
I remembered my last visit to her in August this year in the company of my blossom friend and brother Very Rev Fr. Pius Oladele, MSP. (Lagos, Nigeria).
She held her rosary on her lap, her fingers on the last bead she had prayed. As Oladele and I anointed her with oil and giving her the Body of Christ with smiles in her face.
She submits to pain because it is inevitable, to bereavement because it is irreparable, and to death because it is her destiny.
When Mrs. Ikubolaje died last month, I can imagine the Good Lord welcoming her into his presence with these words so familiar to Christian believers: Well done, good and faithful servant ... come and share your master's happiness!
May the angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs come to welcome you and take you to the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem. May choirs of angels welcome you and lead you to the bosom of Abraham; and where Lazarus is poor no longer may you find eternal rest
As you begin your new life, in which health replaces illness, youth replaces age, and certainty replaces doubt; as you enter the company of those loved ones who preceded you especially your parents, your son (Rev. Fr. Ikubolaje), as you wait for those who are to follow.
May holy Mary, the angels, and all the saints come to meet you as you go forth from this life.... May you see your Redeemer face to face.

My Aunt, Mrs Agnes Morenike Ikubolaje transition news came to me with a devastating shock but who am I to query God who called you to greater glory. Mummy as fondly called because of her enviable motherly disposition to all within her circle of influence has made a mark to mankind.
I took solace in the saying "its not how long one lives but how well". Mummy was a strong woman, pragmatist, a great teacher and a mathematician. It was a great privilege growing under her guidance and tutelage.
I remember how her timely intervention and numerous supports kept me in school till graduation. Her ultimate exemplary life of sacrifice to God & humanity and least to say is the humorous rhyme (" wo yo wo yo wo fara mo") of her yam pounder remain evergreen in my heart.
I believe mummy's sterling qualities and legacy will continue to live on especially in the life of those she touched.
Goodnight! The best Aunt, enjoy your deserved peace with the Lord.
