Katherine Mapes

Katherine Salie Mapes passed away on November 14, 2011 at her home in Taos, NM. Kathy was born in Los Angeles, CA. She and her late husband, David Mapes, owned and operated the much loved Tio Vivo Toy Store in Taos for over twenty years. In recent years Kathy had become a student again, studying art at UNM Taos. She also did volunteer work with Tri-County Community Services. She is survived by her son, Caleb, and her step-sons, Larry and David, by her brother, Kenny Salie, her sister, Donia, her grandchildren, Laura, Jasper and Katie, and by her niece, Genevieve.

A family memorial celebrating her life will held in the spring.
