Judith Ann Miles the daughter of Dan and Kathryn (Orr) Miles, was born September 18, 1942 in Winterset. She graduated from Winterset High School in the class of 1960 and her marriage to Earl S. Leslie took place on September 14, 1963.

Judy was a dedicated wife and mother, staying at home to raise her children. Later, she took a job with the Winterset Elementary School working in the cafeteria for 15 years. Prior to that, she worked briefly at Madison Square.

She was a member of the Winterset Community Church and was baptized in the First Christian Church where she had been a long time member. Judy loved to travel and was especially fond of her trip to Hawaii. Judy also was quite a concert goer having seen many including Michael Buble, Billy Joel, David Phelps, Elton John, The Rockettes Christmas show and her all-time favorite, the Gaither Vocal Band, just to name a few. She was a dedicated QVC home shopper and loved to go out to eat. All this said, most will recall Judy’s love of taking care of others; whether you were a student in her lunch room, a family member or friend.

She is survived by her children, Dan Leslie of Grimes, Sherry Stowe of Winterset, a sister, Sherry Dalrymple of Des Moines and two grandchildren, Brandon Leslie and Jacob Stowe.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Leslie who died on April 23, 1981 and a brother-in-law, Grant Dalrymple. ©

Times spent at Judy and Sherry's home 'out in the country.' So many laughs. Wonderful friend with an easy smile and thoughtfulness towards others. So glad I was able to talk with her at our 50th high school reunion.

I was sad to hear about Judy's passing. I enjoyed her during lunch time at school. She was always cheerful, helpful and warm. She always showed concern for others and often asked me how I was doing. I missed her when she left school and hated to see her go. She continued to be just a friendly and interested in how I was when I would see her at church or on the street. She was a beautiful soul that will be missed.

Judy was such a fine person. I enjoyed stopping to see her every morning when she was at school. She brightened my day with her humor and caring. She certainly made a difference in many kids days. She got them off to a great start! God bless you all.

Oh how I will miss the wonderful lady. What I wouldn't give to one more sweet hug from her as she did every time she came into the shop. My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time. Debbie
