John Sanchez

John C. Sanchez, 85, beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, was called home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2009 after a lengthy illness.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Corrine A. Sanchez, his son, Chris Sanchez, his grandchildren, Kerryann, Emilio, and Cristobal, mother Josefina M. Sanchez, father, Joe L Sanchez, and sister Francis Sanchez.

Mr. Sanchez was born March 27, 1923 in Roy, NM. He was married on December 31, 1947 to Corrine A. Trujillo in Mosquero, NM.

He served in the Army Airforce from 1942 through 1945. Stationed in Calcutta, India, he trained Indian Military personal in operating military tanks and vehicles. He served in India, Berma, and China.

He and his family moved to Santa Fe in 1945 and worked as a brick layer for 16 years. He retired from the NM state Highway Department in July 1988 as a Well Driller Operator.

He is survived by son, John R. Sanchez, daughters, Rachel Romero (Mariano), Elaine L. Lobato (Martin), his eight grandchildren, his six great-grandchildren, brothers, Emelio, and Joe Sanchez, and many other relatives and friends.

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm Monday, February 23, 2009 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Tuesday, February 24, 2009 with burial to follow at National Cemetery.
