John Andrew Connor, son of John and Sarah (Cudmore) Connor, was born November 26, 1930 at home on the farm. He graduated from Martensdale High School in 1948. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Thies on June 15, 1957 at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Des Moines.

He enjoyed watching baseball and traveling. He traveled throughout the United States, Ireland, Haiti and Rome. He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and grandpets with his love and affection. This being said he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.

John was an amazing man, not only by what he accomplished in his life but by all the people he touched and influenced. I remember seeing him regularly when I lived with my grand mother, and the times I visited his home to see Theresa. He always had a ready smile and welcome.
