Ivyl was a very important figure in my early stages of life in manufacturing. Ivyl taught me about machining, welding, general shop practices but most importantly about work ethic. He was one of the most hard working and industrious men I've ever known. When I look back on 40 years for manufacturing it started with Ivyl teaching me the basics at Bowe Machine Co. in Bettendorf, IA back in the early mid 70s. Ivyl was also a personal friend. We shot pool at least weekly, hunted on ocassion, went to a few rodeos and just once or twice had a sip of Leon Stump Water (medicinal of course). When he went to full time truck driving he left me his machinist tool box and a few tools. Its a little rusty and sitting in my garage. It always makes me smile and remember the man that did the most to shape a young man's life when he needed it most. My deepest condolences to the family at the loss of one great Cowboy. In his words: Powder River Let 'er Buck...........

Rusty....My heart is sad but have so many memories. My children always thought we were brother & sister, not first cousins. We grew up in the hills of the Ozarks in a time when family was so important. We loved he & Max and spent many hours in many towns following that thing called "Rodeo" with them. Hyannis, Leon, little towns in Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska and finals in Amarillo and Las Vegas. Prayers & love from Nebraska where Ivyl had many good friends and a lot of cousins......Cousin Joyce and Dave; sons Carson & Wes and daughter Cami and their families. Plan to see you Tuesday evening.

I have many fond memories of Ivyl, especially the time he came to Mineral Wells to visit when I was just a kid and he hung a basketball goal on the garage for us. We were so impressed! The last time I saw him was when he and Maxine came to see Daddy there and we so enjoyed their visit. Sorry we are unable to attend the funeral, but you will all be in our thoughts and prayers. Janis
