Biography


Fred Sirdoreus, 64, of Lexington, North Carolina, formerly of Winterset, died Thursday, October 4, 2018, at the Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home and concluding with burial in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family and online condolences can be left at Ochiltree.com.
Freddie Wayne Sirdoreus, son of Homer and Bernice (Madden) Sirdoreus, was born June 19, 1954, in Madison County, Iowa. He attended schools in the Winterset area and graduated from Winterset High in 1975. Fred was united in marriage with JoAnne Hotz on May 25, 1985, at Walnut Ridge Park at Saylorville Lake.
Fred worked as a heavy machinery mechanic for most of his working career and had a true passion for his work. He enjoyed spending his free time watching NASCAR, being outdoors on his acreage and had an appreciation for nature. Fred was a wonderful uncle and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend who cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
Fred is survived by his wife, JoAnne Sirdoreus of Des Moines; siblings, Jack (Laverne) Willis of Clive, Ruthie Purscell of Ocean Springs, MS, Rose (Randy) Wiig of Lexington, NC, Ray (Sheryl) Sirdoreus of Winterset; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Bernice Sirdoreus; daughter (in infancy), Heidi Lynne Sirdoreus; brother, Jim Willis; and brother-in-law, Butch Purscell.

I grew up with the Sirdoreus family from several sides. (Homer and Rocky) Fred was a fun guy and was well respected amongst his peers and friends. I often wonder what happened to him and I see he went to North Carolina. Rest in peace Fred. You will be missed by all of your friends back in Winterset.

this name Sirdoreus, i have heard forever due to the fact the earlier family worked for my grandfather & father Lenocker on farm 5 miles south of Dexter Iowa & that's been awhile because i am 85 & a Lenocker. (smile)
