Biography


EULA MAE CHAPPELL, 88, of Santa Fe, passed away Wednesday evening, March 9, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 8, 1927 in White Deer, Texas, the daughter of Flo and Frank Lawrence. She married Otis Chappell in April of 1953. Otis preceded her in death in December of 2011. She was also preceded by her sister, Cecile Kartas. During WWII, Eula Mae worked at the Los Alamos Lab as a switchboard operator. Following that time, she and her mother both worked at Kaune’s Store on Washington Avenue. Later she loved being the seating hostess at Horseman’s Haven. She was an active member of the Doe’s Drove #57 at the Elks Lodge in Santa Fe. Special thanks to Ambercare Hospice, especially Ted, Annie, and Vanessa. Eula Mae was a kind, loving woman who will be forever missed. Her personal relationship with Jesus was her most important part of her life.
She is survived by her two sons, Bryan (JoAnn) and Dan (Debi); 3 sisters, Flo Rolison (Rolie) of Albuquerque , Gloria Brazda (Dave), and Carole Brito (Bruce) of Santa Fe; two brothers, Dan Lawrence of Santa Fe and Frank Lawrence (Nadine) of Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Tammy Peinado, Danette Chappell, Chris Chappell, Theresa Anderson (Josh), and Emily Chappell; Great Grandchildren, Jaxen and Julian Peinado. She is also survived by her special friends, Chris Salazar, Maxine Sisneros and Loretta Maxwell, and many more too numerous to count.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:30 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Rivera Family Kiva Chapel with Rev. Duncan Lanham officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery
