Elzara Kent

Elzara Billye Kent was born July 21, 1906 in Elliston, Iowa, the daughter of Basil and Minnie (Hollingsworth) Kauble. She graduated from Elliston High School in 1924 and later married William R. Kent on August 12, 1928. She is survived by her son, Roderick Kent and wife, Verlee of Des Moines; son-in-law, Herb Kirby of Reno, NV; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Billye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; two daughters, Kay Camille Wahlert and Vi Eve Harriet Kirby; five sisters; a son-in-law, Edward Wahlert; and one great-granddaughter. Billye helped her husband operate the Kent’s Guernsey Dairy. She belonged to the First United Methodist Church of Winterset. Billye loved her family and friends and enjoyed cooking, gardening and reading. Billye died on Monday, November 5, 2007 at the Winterset Care Center North. She was 101.
