DOLORES B. GONZALES

Our beloved mother and grandmother, DOLORES B. GONZALES, entered into the kingdom of God Tuesday, May 3, 2016. She passed peacefully at her home in the assisted living community at Montecito of Santa Fe following a long and joyful life of 95 years. “Dodo” or “Dolly”, as she was also known, was a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. She married Merced J. Gonzales in 1940 and raised 3 children. Dolores worked for the original Sears department store on Lincoln Avenue for over 30 years. She was a faithful member of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, the Sacred Heart League and the Blessed Sacrament Adoration group. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. Dolores has had countless friends and loved ones throughout her long life and will be missed by us all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merced J. Gonzales; her parents, Trinidad Delgado Baca and Eloy Baca; brothers, Eloy Baca, Jr, Gene Baca, Tony Baca, and Joe R. Baca; sister, Amelia Baca Martinez; and grandson, John Michael Gonzales.

Dolores is survived by her son, Joe Dwight Gonzales and wife Louise; daughter, Anna Marie Coon and husband Stan; son, Gilbert Gonzales; grandchildren, DeMaurice Gonzales, Dr. Dennis Gonzales, Blaine Coon, Marla Carrillo and husband Cisco, Nicole Okumu and husband Franklin, and Angela Wilson and husband Jeff. Her great-granchildren include; Trinity and Francisco Carrillo, and Niko and Enzo Okumu and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family expresses special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at the Montecito of Santa Fe and Ambercare Hospice. In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial contributions be offered in her name to the Carmelite Monastery.

Viewing will begin at 6:00 pm Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Rivera Family Kiva Chapel, 417 Rodeo Rd, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
