To the Valdez Family,
Words cannot express the sadness that is felt for your loss which is being felt all the way here in Idaho. We are so sorry for the losses of your Beloved Brother Derwin. Im sorry I was not there to be with you in your time of need, but please know that the entire Valdez Family has been in my daily prayers. And that Holy Masss have been offered on behalf of your family. In time of tragedy we must always remember to lean more deliberately into our Heaven Fathers arms. I pray for peace and comfort for the whole family. May God Bless you all.

It is so hard to believe that Der is no longer amoungst us. It feels like an awful dream though I know that he is with my mom which is a great comfort to me ...
Some years back, he nick-named me - "Glow" - and in recent years referred to me as "Sweetie". He always greeted me with a huge hug which I will forever miss.
He had such a "unique persona" and was blessed with many talents which he shared with so many. He had a very strong faith in God. I am certain I will never meet another person like him.
His faith allowed him a peaceful death and for that I will always be thankful.
I thank God, the blessed mother, Der' guardian angel, St Francis de Assisi and my earthly mother for prayers answered.
Der You will forever be in my heart ..... I love and miss you - May you rest in peace little brother.....

Primo Derwin,
Memories of you are pressed between the pages of my mind, that take me back to our childhood days. Great memories Derwin, as I will never forget you. I will miss your infectious laugh and quick wit. Your talent with mechanics and electronics was incomparable. Thanks for being a brother to me, when I had none.
I am saddened by your loss in this world, but know one day we will be re-united.
I will close with a Robert Frost poem, as it reminds my of your heart of gold--Derwin.
"Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leafs a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,

Valerie, sorry to hear of your brothers passing. I know how hard it is and to think it happened on your mothers anniv. (a special day for them) but a sad day for all of you. my thoughts and prayers are with you.
