Biography

Delia M. Marquez, 80 –Delia went with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 7, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Leocadia Ortiz, father Jose Ortiz, husband Mike Marquez, husband Mark Mendoza, husband Paul Tapia, son, Arthur Marquez and sisters, Erlinda Sanchez and Virginia Ortiz; grandparents, Abundio and Marillita Armijo and Benito and Clemencia Ortiz; brother-in-law, Ben Marquez; sister-in-law, Mabel Tavasci. She is survived by her children: Leo Marquez and wife Nadine, Frank Marquez and wife Beth, Irene Mueller and husband Anthony; grandchildren: Brandie Marquez, Mike Marquez, Arthur Marquez, Jr., Alex Marquez, Anthony S. Mueller, Emily Mueller, Maximus Marquez, and Samson Marquez; great-grandson, Damian Marquez; great-granddaughters: Aaliyah, Diandra and Jenessa Marquez; siblings Rosina Medrano and husband Joe, Benny Ortiz and wife Mary, Robert Ortiz and wife Josie, Ramon Ortiz and wife Susan, Rudy Ortiz and wife Helen, Angie Barela and husband Tony, brother-in-law John Sanchez; sister-in-law, Margaret Zamora and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She loved Jesus and put her faith in him always. Her love of life could be seen when she danced and sang. She touched many lives through her volunteer work which brought her much joy. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to donate to the Cristo Rey Parish. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. at the Kiva Chapel on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at 417 East Rodeo Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018, at Cristo Rey Church with the interment to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. The arrangements are under the direction of Rivera Family Funeral Home.

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to everyone who was fortunate to have met Delia. Delia loved to sing and dance and I was fortunate to have been around her all these years to have shared this joy with her. I will miss you dear friend. Rest in Peace! God bless you!
