David Michael Rivas

Biography


David Michael Rivas, 57, left this life peacefully in the care of his loving family on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
David was born in July 1956 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jesus and Lois Rivas.

David joined the army and proudly served as an infantryman and the Vietnam War. David was honorably discharged in 1978.

He loved working as an auto body man, at his father shop, he also enjoyed fishing, and watching football.

David was preceded in death by his father Jesus and grandparents Cresencio and Elisa Arevalos.

He is survived by his son David, and daughter Audrey, he was given two grandsons, Emilio and Marcus, by son David and his wife Justina.
David is also survived by his mother Lois, brothers Mark and Steven and sisters Lisa, Cynthia and their families.

Pallbearers: Steven Rivas, Robert Sanchez, Lorenzo Carrillo, Nick Hazel, Joe Kilman and Mark Rivas.

A public visitation was held at Monday at Rivera Family Funeral Home, 305 Calle Salazar, Espanola, NM 87532, 505-753-2288.
A Rosary was recited on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 131 Cathedral Pl. Santa Fe, NM. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Estoy contristada con la pérdida de su ser querido, no hay duda que la muerte es muy dolorosa, por tal razón quería compartir con usted algunas palabras de consolación que le ayudaran en estos momentos difíciles, tal como me ayudaron a mí.
