Biography


Danilo “Neil” Martin Rentuma, 47, of Wheeling, Illinois formerly of Des Moines, Iowa, died unexpectedly, Thursday, November 19, 2015.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Friday, January 8, 2016, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, Iowa from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.; where his family will be present to receive friends.
Memorials in his name may be directed to the family.
A private committal will take place at a later date in the Winterset Cemetery, Winterset.
Danilo Martin Rentuma, the son of Martin and Sotira (Tubaya) Rentuma, was born January 10, 1968 in Annapolis, Maryland at the Naval Hospital. He grew up in Maryland and later settled in Des Moines. He was married twice; first to Kelly McCauley and later to Shannon Lovelace.
During his working career, Neil worked with several computer companies as an Information Technology Specialist. Neil was creative and artistic and loved music. When he lived in Maryland, he was a member of the band ‘Dick Danger and the Road Rangers’ a popular local group. He was also an athlete and enjoyed the Korean martial arts, taekwondo.
He is survived by his three daughters, Gabby Rentuma of Des Moines, from his marriage to Kelly McCauley; Jett and Rowen Rentuma both of Texas, from his marriage to Shannon Lovelace; his father, Martin Rentuma of Florida and the Philippines; his four siblings, Mario, Rod, Joe and Rehena Rentuma all of Maryland; extended family and a host of friends.
Neil was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.

I met Neil several years ago. Neil was the consummate professional. He demonstrated before me how to build and configure Windows servers. As a friend I valued him on a much larger scale. Neil was highly intelligent and had plenty of common sense. I will miss him.
