Biography


Cynthia Agneta Wilsey, 72 years old, died peacefully at home on December 8, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Originally from Portland, Oregon Cynthia traveled extensively, having lived in both Los Angeles and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba before finally settling in San Francisco. It was there she met her husband and raised three daughters, in addition to participating successfully in various entrepreneurial undertakings in partnership with her spouse.

In 2011 Cynthia visited Taos and fell in love with its history and beauty. Cynthia eventually relocated to Taos where she spent the last years of her life happily dedicating herself to her children and grandchildren. Cynthia was strong-willed, of high moral standards, an outspoken defender of womens rights, an avid reader and lover of poetry and jazz music. Cynthia was a devoted spouse, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

Cynthia is survived by her husband, Gunther Gopp, daughters Jaemie Solis, Ariel Wilsey-Gopp, and Claudia Wilsey-Gopp, grandchildren Dora, Avran and Eva, brother Michael Wilsey, and extended family residing in the Pacific Northwest.
