Carla was one of the most special individuals I have ever had the privlage of knowing. I only wish I haden't lost contact with her over recent years. You are a lucky family to have had Carla as a family member. I will miss her dearly.

Mom you were a complex graceful lady. Full of talent and creativity. You always worked hard and set goals to become better at all your endeavors. You taught me that one should always do more than you are paid for as thats how one sets themselves apart from everyone else. You were always driven and looking for ways to better yourself and inspire and help others to better themselves as well. Always looking for what you could to for others and not what they could do for you. Always finding ways everyone could benefit from any effort. When you were disabled and could not work full time anymore you used your talents for quilting, beadwork and painting to help make ends meet.
I remember when you would try to teach me that it is in giving that we receive. You would tell me the story of how when you were young and got some money for candy instead of buying on big candy bar you would by as much penny candy as you could afford so that you would have more for later and plenty to share with your siblings and friends. It took my a long time to understand that story but finally I understand the joy and importance of sharing and saving.
You taught me how to truly love and live life with dignity, integrity, grace, and creativity. I am proud and feel so very lucky to have a mom as wonderful and amazing as you.

Mom, you have accomplished more in your life time than anyone I know. You had the strength and courage to become the person you always wanted to be. You set goals and had dreams and you worked hard to achieve them. Always striving to make thinks better for us. I want to Thank you for teaching us to always believe in our selves, do our very best, and always to be good to one anther. Living with you these last few months has given me the opportunity to spend some quality time with you and has helped me to reach a new level of love, admiration, appreciation , and respect for you. I saw you deal with more pain than anyone person should ever have to deal with in a life time and as always you did so with dignity, style and grace that only you could pull off. I will miss you always, but in my heart I know that you will always be with us. Now go in peace and free of pain to be with grandma and grandpa again. I still remember the first day I meet Carla A.K.A ( Lottie ), It was late summer back in 1983 , man what a day ! All kidding aside , it did not take long to gather that Carla was a strong, independent and focused Young Woman. I can tell you that Nora and Norma have that same sprit too. The last few days have been a challenge to the girls and there mothers strength has show in them like a beacon to follow, I love you guys. Over the years I learned she was a lot like me, in some regards. We wanted the most life could give in the way of new places to see and new things to learn. Who could we meet today and learn from them, good or not so good. Many years have passed and I have seen this young Woman meet several challenges that life has thrown her way. I witnessed first hand the inner streathen in Carla that most people just dont have , faith in positive outcomes. Not just for herself but others she cared about. In her heart she knew that having a positive outlook for her to recover was the key. To this day and being around her in the last months , I still dont know how she did what she did with the grace and dignity she carried to the end. Folks, mourning someone is never easy and we feel cheated that Carla was taken from us to soon! But that is just us being selfish and grieving in our own way. Theres no right way to grieve, and its normal to experience a great sense of loss. We also know that we all share something that we can keep forever. Our memories, the experiences we shared with Carla. I truly feel Carla is in a better place and is at peace now. In closing as we get together to honor Carlas passing ,take the time during this service to recall the special moments you have had with this special Woman in your life Carla A.K.A ( Lottie ). Until we meet again, I wish you the best in your new Journey Home to rejoin passed loved ones.

My deerest Aunty I love you so much! You were and always will be a huge part of my life and who I am! Words can not express the pain I feel that I will never get to be in your presence in this life! My dearest Aunt Lottie- you opened your heart and home to Raychel and I always. We may not have made it without you;you gave us a place to espcape, enjoy good food (we had a few cooking contests), enjoyed Steel Magnolias for the first time with you & Raychel- that movie will always remind you of you- U R A STEEL MAGNOLIA! The 3 of us, sometimes more enjoyed your hospitality and your warm fireplace- just like your heart and kind smile, warm and inviting. I am glad you are free from pain and able to do everthing you did, knitting, quilting, gardening, dressing up, making jewelry, just to name a few of your hobbies, and no matter where you are, you live with us still and we are also with you- soon, we will all be together. Dear Auntie Lottie, I'm sorry I was not there for your passing and I am sorry I won't be there for your fare well. But, I want you to know that there wasn't a day I didn't think of you,and prayed your pain would go away. I always asked my mom how you were doing. You know I was remembering the last time I talk to you and it was when my Mom and auntie Veronica went to visit you when you lived with uncle Danny. I am sorry about the entry I made early. As you know I got home from my trip earlier than expected so that I could be here to make sure you had a good send off in your journey "home". I was feeling so empty that you left so suddenly. I spoke with you on Tuesday night and you promised me you were going to be better when I got back. During our visits we talked alot about growing up together. I made you laugh and those memories were still on my mind when I wrote my comments.
I am so angry that you suffered so much. I want to scream! Thank you for letting me spend time with you at the end. It was my turn to be your big sister and take care of your emotional well being. I learned so much from you although I am a little crazy as you and mom always said. I am going to miss our talks and your telling me how to deal with stuff.
I love you so much. I know that mom and dad is with you. Mom always said you would be the first to go with her and she was right.
Oh...I still have my teddy bear that you made me. Since you got sick I slept with it faithfully. It makes it easier to deal with your being gone.
I promise to be there for your beautiful daughters and grandchildren.

Time goes by so fast that we often have so little time to do the things we want to.We are to busy working at life to actually live. I wish that we had more time with you under different circumstances off course. I know that holding on to you for ourselves would be selfish due to the pain you had to sustain but if we could have just a little more time, i wouldn't complain. I was angry the other nite thinking that you won't be there for all the good things that the future may bring like being a great grandma, marriage, college graduations, But then I remembered that I still have you, in spirit. The only thing different is now you can be in high heels and a pretty dress, pain free dancing next to me when I am happy or holding my hand when I am sad. I am PROUD to say that I am very much like you my mom reminds me often. I am glad that I had the oppurtunity to learn, love and laugh with you. I will always hold you close to my heart.
