Robert Vern Reynolds was born October 9, 1928 at home in Dallas Center, Iowa; the son of Vern and Helen (Worster) Reynolds. He graduated from De Soto High School in 1946. He married Betty Douglas on June 5, 1946 in Winterset and they moved to Earlham.
Bob owned his own fuel truck and delivered DX Fuel for many years. He later worked for the Earlham Coop for over 40 years. Bob was a member of Earlham Fire and Rescue for 20 years and was a member of the Odd Fellows. He enjoyed the 20 years refereeing high school football and basketball games. He took great pride in his grandchildren and especially enjoyed watching Wes play football and Rachel show her calves.
Bob also enjoyed spending time with friends, going to card club and Montross for coffee. Bob and Betty enjoyed traveling and took trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, Switzerland and Jamaica. He was a snowbird spending his winters in Arizona. During his time there he left cookie sheets and pie pans on the neighbor’s porches in hopes for them to be returned with treats. Bob was a devoted Christian, husband, father and grandfather who treasured the time he was able spend with his family.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Sheri (Earl) Capps of Earlham; daughter-in-law, Patti (Dick) Kenworthy of Earlham; two grandchildren, Wes (Jess) Reynolds of Earlham and Rachel Reynolds of Earlham.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; son, Rick Reynolds; and a sister, Marjorie Reynolds.

Sheri - I'm very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He and your mom were always great friends with my mom and dad. I remember them getting together often for square dances and other activities. Because our families lived so close together, it almost seemed like one big family. Take care and we'll chat the next time I'm in Earlham......Steve
