Biography


Bernardita O. Jones-age 88 of Espanola passed away on Friday June 25, 2010 after suffering a lengthy illness. She was proceeded in death by her husband Roy Jones in 1991, parents Toribio and Ramona Olivas, sister Carmon Casares, and two brother-in-laws Troy and Leo Jones. Bernardita is survived by her daughters Mary Pauline Martinez and Viola Jones, grandson Robert Martinez and wife Annabelle, Granddaughter Melissa Martinez, great grandchildren Brandy Garcia, Rob Martinez, and Andrew Saiz all of Espanola, brother Juan Olivas and wife Dora of El Llano, sister Precilla Dominguez of El Llano, Lugardita Maestas of California, brother-in-law Claude Jones and wife Mary of Texas, Cathy Maestas and husband Tony whom she thought of as a daughter, grandchildren Dana Sandoval, and Jason Maestas all of La Puebla, also many other nieces and nephews. A public visitation will be held one hour prior to the recitation of the rosary will be held on Sunday June 27, 2010 at 7:00pm in the Rivera Family Funeral Home Chapel. The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday June 28th at 9:30 at Iglesia De Santa Cruz De La Canada. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following pallbearers: Max Martinez, Kenny Martinez, Johnny Cordova, Patrick Lovato, Jerome Jaramillo, and Tony Silva. Honorary pallbearers: all grandchildren and great grandchildren.
