Bennie A. Vigil

Mr. Bennie Angelo Vigil, age 72 of Santa Fe, NM. died peacefully on Monday August 31, 2011. He was one of the top three longest living heart transplant recipients in the nation. He was especially happy spending time with his beloved family, enjoying fishing, boxing and playing poker. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather & great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Vigil, father Antonio Vigil, mother Victoria Sanchez, brothers: Tony, Walter, Ruben and David, and sister Vicky Betty. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nora Vigil, sons; Bennie Vigil, Jr. (Cindy), Paul Vigil (Julie) and Billy Vigil (Terese), grandchildren: Joey, Bennie, III, Lucas, Michael, Ashlyn, Samuel and Lindsay, and great grandson Anthony, sisters; Lucy, Linda, Rachel and Mary Grace (Harold), brothers; Joe Padilla (Isabel), Mike Garcia and Joe Garcia.

Recitation of the Rosary was held September 5, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, on Osage Avenue, in Santa Fe. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on September 6, 2011 also at church, with interment followed at Rosario Cemetery.
