Alyssa was my first best friend in kindergarten and first grade. She always has had a special place in my heart. She moved away after first grade, and I thought about her every day. We hadn't talked about keeping in touch, even though later I wished we had. I found her on Facebook back in April, and after 10 long years, we finally reconnected. I'm glad I finally had a chance to talk to her before she died. Alyssa was such a special girl. Even back when she was just 5 and 6 years old, she made a positive impact on my life and she will be remembered. Love you, Alyssa. May you rest in peace. <3

You may not remember me, but I was a friend of Alyssa in Kindergarden at Goodrich elementary. I just learned last week of your lost. I was devistated. I don't remember many people from my kindergarden class, but I do remember Alyssa. She was a beautiful, energetic, and wonderfully unique girl. This loss is an awakening to me and everyone else who knew her. Many people who I still attend school with who went to Goodrich also remember Alyssa. Not only has her loss affected her community, but all the way here in Illinois. I will never forget Alyssa and her memory will always be alive.
