Mary Irene Durr

Mary Irene (Cordova) Durr, 72, passed away Tuesday April 4, 2017. She was surrounded by her children, family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Martin and Sabinita Cordova, spending her childhood in Truchas, NM. She then moved to Santa Fe, where she devoted most of her life raising her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe E. Durr Sr.

She is survived by her children: daughter Mary Jo Quintana, son Joe Durr Jr., daughter Sabrina Durr and seven grandchildren: Christopher Durr, Brianna Quintana, Brandon Durr, Amber Quintana, Jonah Durr, Joshua Durr and Jacob Quintana Jr. Also surviving sister-in-law, Margaret Durr, nephews Jarod Durr and Patrick Durr; brother-in-law, Harold Durr Jr., sister-in-law, Darla Durr, niece, Lillian Durr, nephew Michael Durr; and several cousins.

Growing up as an only child created the strong, feisty and independent mother and grandmother who held the family together. Her family values and life's lessons will live on with her children and grandchildren. Join the family for a viewing on Tuesday, April 11 at 6:00 pm and rosary following at 7:00 pm at The Chapel of Light at Rivera's Family Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 12 at 10:45 am at The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Burial will follow the mass at Rosario Cemetery.
