Lillie M. Perea

Lillie Perea, age 75, a resident of Anton Chico, NM passed away on May 4, 2013 due to a longtime illness. She was born on June 25, 1937 to Juan and Stella Maestas and adoptive mother Rita Marquez.

Lillie is preceded in death by her adoptive mother Rita Marquez, parents Juan and Stella Maestas, brothers Jose, Levi, Richard and Leroy Maestas and sister Gail Lueras.

She is survived by her son Joseph and wife Victoria, granddaughter Martina, grandsons Emiliano and Marcos, sisters Clara Williams, Marcella Aragon and Yolanda Maestas, brothers, Juanito Maestas, Chris Maestas, Alfred Maestas and wife Cathy and sister-in-law Ludena Maestas.

From 1978-2004, Lillie owned and operated Lillies Grocery Store in Anton Chico. She was well known in the community because of her generosity and firm personality. She wasnt afraid to speak her mind and often did. She developed strong, loving relationships with many people throughout her life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The tall squeaky sign of her hard worked establishment still stands to this day.

A rosary and mass of Chrisitan burial were held on May 11, 2013 at St. Josephs Church in Anton Chico, NM. Interment followed at the San Jose Cemetery in Anton Chico.
