Leo David Padilla

Leo David Padilla, 61, born May 31st, 1950 gave his tired body to the Lord on Saturday, January 7, 2012. He finally succumbed to the illness that plagued him most of his life.

Leo was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He grew up nestled in the mountains of Upper Canyon Road, where he often sought refuge. A talented artist and troubled soul, Leo was a loving father, brother & son. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio & Antonia Padilla, his grandparents, Cesaria & Jose Rivera and Juanita & Tedocio Padilla. He is survived by his children, Celina Varela, Joseph Padilla, and their mother, Margaret Ulibarri, Tanya, Antonio& Matthew Padilla, and their mother, Elena Sena, grandchildren, Angelica, Andres, Mannie and Samantha Padilla & Amber & Diego Varela. Leo is also survived by his sisters, Carmen Carrillo (Michael Kuhlewind), Maria Padilla Enyart (Steve), Cesaria (Cia) Tapia, Ana Padilla & brother Carlos Padilla. Leo also leaves behind nephews, Michael & Andrew Carrillo, David Padilla & Steven Barela, and nieces, Donna Gurule, Bianca Barela, Lindsay Archuleta, Nicole & Arianne Padilla, and Marisa Danielson. Leo had beloved aunts & uncles that preceded him in death, and beloved aunts, uncles & cousins that he also leaves behind.

Funeral mass was celebrated on January 13, 2012 at Cristo Rey Church. A reception followed at the Elks Club.
