Frances Whitney

Mrs. Frances Whitney, age 88 of Espanola, Nm. died peacefully on Tuesday March 15, 2011 in Cortez, CO. She was born in Dewitt, Arkansas to the late Frank and Abbie Nady. She was a member of The Ladies Home Extension Club, an avid gardener and baker. Her family will remember her delicious homemade pies, tasty donuts and other sweets, as well as her delicious homecooked meals. She enjoyed time spent in the garden and tending to her lovely flowers. Mrs. Whitney was also preceded in death by her dear husband Lester, brother I.W. Nady, son in laws; Dan Holterman, James Munkres and Anthony Giron. She is survived by her children; Vikki Munkres of Espanola, Sandra Giron of Espanola, Leon Whitney of Rangly, CO. and Elaine Underwood and husband Ken of Cortez, CO., grandchildren; Jeanie Marten and husband Dave, Danise Coon and husband Christopher, Daniel Holterman and wife Lucianna, Dawn Evridge and husband David, Steven Underwood and wife Amber and James Munkres. Great grandchildren include Ian and Sean Marten, Anelia and Rylan Holterman, and Grace, Madison and Colin Evridge, as well as many other relatives.

A Funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 22, at Valley View United Methodist Church. Interment was followed at The Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde.
