Corina R. Maestas

Corina R. Maestas, 99, of Talpa, NM, was called from her home by Our Heavenly Father to join him on Dec. 13th 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan & Mercedes Romo, siblings: Estella Duran, Manuel Romo, Genoveva Sandoval, Amelia Valdez and Juanito Romo. She is also preced in death by her Husband: Benceslado Maestas, Sons: Juanito, Julian & Johnny, Daughters: Violita Maestas & Porfie Montoya, and Grandchildren: Jerry Maestas, Lucille Montoya , Herson Vigil Jr., Joseph Smith Jr., Izekiel Baca, and Antoinette Lopez . She is survived by her children: Alice Valdez (Horace), Lorraine Smith (Harry), Eva Valdez (Tony), Gloria Lopez (+Ted+2003), Orlando Maestas (Adelma), Olivia Gonzales (+Gregorio+1993), Jeanette Vigil (Herson), Moises Maestas (Michelle), Diana Hammer (Sammy), Cleo Coca (Johnny), Mercy Quintana (Robert), and several Grandchildren she and Grandpa Bences helped raise: Margaret Trujillo (Frank). Joann Perea (Peter), Peggy Montoya (+Alex+), Gabriela Montoya, Ben Montoya (Mary) and Julian Maestas. She is also survived by 34 Grandchildren, 69 Great-Grandchildren, 40 Great- Great-Grandchildren as well as a very large extended family and numerous friends. Corina was an inspiration to everyone who was fortunate to have known her. She had a strong Commitment to her Faith in Our Heavenly Father. She lived her life teaching her family the Value of FAMILY and how important it is to always be there for each other. She practiced what she preached and influenced others by example of her beliefs. Although she will surely be missed, she will definitely never be forgotten in our hearts.tation

Visitation was held on December 17, 2013 at Rivera Chapel. Rosaries were held on December 17 and 18th at San Francisco de Assis Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held on December 19, 2013 at San Francisco de sis Church with interment following at the Talpa Cemetery. She was carried to her final resting place by her 18 Grandsons serving as Pallbearers.
