Kathy, We met you and Bill once at Elaine Sullivan's home about a year ago when Alston's daughter was preparing for a class.
We were so sorry to hear about Bill's death and extend to you our sympathy.
Peace to you and your family.

John Sherman published a tribute .

How sad to lose a good friend, someone we cherished not only for his wit and wisdom, but for his passion for good causes. His commitment to the issues facing Palestine and Israel were shared with us through his many articles and the book he recently co-authored with Kathy, Palestine in Pieces.

Lois and I became acquainted with Bill and Kathy when we lived in Santa Fe. We maintained our friendship and saw them a few times in Santa Fe after we moved. On more than one occasion when the two of them went to Palestine, they sent emailed descriptions of their experiences. I offered to forward those to a number of my friends and acquaintances and, for a long time, had a "Christison" folder in my e-mail address book that contained a list of people who appreciated the opportunity to read on-site descriptions of some of the injustices suffered daily by the Palestine people.

A gentle, kind man, Bill was naturally drawn to situations where people did not have the rights and privileges they deserve. He will be missed not only by his family and friends, but by those whose cause he championed.

Our thoughts go out to Kathy and to his children and their families.
