I'm saddened by the death of Ms. Shirley. I didn't get the blessings of meeting her yet but I'm holding on to Jehovah God's promise. This is the beginning and I am thankful to know that a time will come when my children will get to meet and know their Great Grandmother. Rest easy Shirley. And to the family and friends out there, cry but don't weep. Lookup Revelations 21:3- 4 for encouragement. God bless.

Thank you Grandma Shirley Nolan because of you, I am able to build a legacy with hard work and commitment and the fruits of your labor. You came to America almost 50 years ago with dreams of making a better life for your kids (my fathers and aunties) during a time woman of color from another country aspiring for more was given more closed doors than open opportunity but you worked through it. Your grandchildren and great grandchildren and beyond will have the American dream now so, again thank you, I love you, and may you Rest In Peace

I met Shirley at Capon Springs, WV, while on a quilting retreat. We had a lot of laughs - we connected and I had a friend for life. I'm missing her already.

What a beautiful woman - only knew her for a short period of time but she had a big heart and a wonderful spirit and you knew she was your friend.

Shirley Nolan's Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Newport News, Va. The special Memorial service will start at 7pm EST. The location address is 116 Denbigh Blvd, Newport News, VA 23608. After the memorial service, we will also have a Repass service at St. Jerome's Church for those who would like to attend and fellowship. We look forward to celebrating Shirley Nolan's life with all of her friends and family. To know Shirley was to love Shirley, A warm heart, a kind and giving spirit, with such a creative mind and gifted hands. Shirley had a wealth of knowledge of cooking,baking, gadgets, just a" knowhow" about so many things. Her passing is a tremendous loss to our family.To her children and grandchildren I pray that God gives you strength to endure your immeasurable grief. We will always miss her and always love her. May her soul rest in Peace.
