Josephine Ortega

Josephine Griego-Ortega passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2010. She was born on January 30, 1924 in Tesuque, New Mexico. Josephine is preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Ortega; parents Anastacio and Maria Griego; twin sister Angelina (Jose) and Eduvigen (Johnny), brothers: Rodolfo (Cuca), Amador (Nellie), Anastacio, and Maclovio (Cecilia). Josephine is survived by her children: Christine (Phillip) Valdez and Diana (Domenick) De Santis, brother, Adelaido (Yolanda) Griego; sister-in-law, Cecilia Griego; grandchildren: Monica (Alfredo) Montoya and Marisa Valdez; great-grandchildren: Marisol, Carlos, and Paloma; her special nephew Gilbert Blea and many other nieces and nephews that were dear to her and us. Our mother was a good, generous mother who worked all her life, looking out and praying for the well-being of her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her dearly. A rosary will be recited at San Isidro Church Tuesday June 22, 2010 at 7:00pm in Tesuque. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 9:30 on Wednesday June 23rd at San Isidro Church, with interment to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
