WALTER JOHN KEESING III

Born in Taos, NM on March 1, 1947, he lost his battle with cancer on Monday, September 28, 2015.
John spent his early years between Sacketts Harbor, NY and Santa Fe. He then moved to New Mexico full time, living in Picuris Pueblo for 10 years, then residing in Santa Fe for the last 35 years.
He wore many hats during his lifetime. He was studying to be a priest before he met his future wife, Mary Louise. He worked at Moores Mens Store alongside his father-in-law Vincent Perez. He sold insurance, worked for the Eight Northern Indian Pueblo Council, was in the car business, hotel & restaurant management, and was a small business consultant.
John was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter John Keesing, II and Dorothy Mae Keesing; and his son Christopher Stephen Keesing. John is survived by his loving wife Mary Louise; his children, Marcy Willard and husband David, J. Keesing, and Tiana Meyers and husband Arthur; granddaughters, Isabella Willard, Caitlyn Rodriguez, and Georgiana Sisk. Also surviving him are his brothers and sisters, Kathy Gamble and husband George, Steve Pina and wife Terry, Tom Keesing, Robert Keesing, and Lisa Rister and husband Terry; brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony Trujillo, Robert Perez, Richard Perez and wife Ellen, and James Perez; special niece Jonette Sam, and many other dearly loved nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday, October 3, 2015 at St. Anne Catholic Church. A reception will follow at Masonic Lodge, Montezuma Lodge #1, 431 Paseo de Peralta, next to the Scottish Rite Temple, from 1-4 pm Saturday.
